If you take this scripture passage, a song based on this verse, some drums, guitars, a piano, some voices, and add some energy, heart, hands, prayer and friendship, what do you get? Well, if you are within earshot, you will likely hear some happy people doing something they have come to love doing. Six individuals from St. Pius X Parish have formed a group called “Joshua 24:15.” Although they enjoy singing and learning new songs, digging up some old songs, and are even working on some originals of their own, their real intent is to work each day to do as Joshua said, and “serve the Lord.” Be it through song, spending time with their families, their volunteer hours with church activities, youth groups, school activities, Adoration hours, or their daily jobs, their goal is to always strive to keep Christ on their minds and spread His love to others around them. Mike once introduced the group as a “family band,” explaining that Marsha is married to his cousin Ron, Mike and Amy are cousins, and that although Leigh, John and Chris are not even Moberly natives, he claims them as siblings. Their time together is therapeutic, it is time to relax, laugh, talk, listen, sing and pray together. You might see them join hands as they get ready to sing and play, as this has become customary for them, as they thank God for each other and ask God’s blessing on what they are trying to do. Joshua 24:15 enjoys doing several styles of music, and likes to play for all age groups of audiences. They sometimes have special guest musicians and vocalists. If timing and scheduling permits, Joshua 24:15 would love to come to your gathering and sing God’s praises with you.
